I’m probably one of the only Americans alive who doesn’t claim any Irish ancestry. I do however, through a series of events, find myself living in Ireland.

After nearly ten years traipsing around the world, what I thought would never happen actually happened:

I got sick of traveling.

My partner is Irish (no, not Irish-American — Irish Irish) and after a few drinks and a little thought, we decided to take a shot at living in Ireland long-term.

I suppose you could argue that since I’m not Irish, I’m still technically traveling, but the way I see it, with all my boxes unpacked and no plans to leave, I’m officially home.

Not Quite Irish is a chronicle of my newest adventure: Getting to know my adopted country and its people. Follow along with me as I explore life in Ireland!
